Have-A-Go
Poole Canine ClubPresent a COMPANION DOG SHOW with SCRUFFTS HEAT Proceeds to Poole Canine Club & About the Shire-Girl Project Shine-Girl is a non-profit making charity designed to be an exciting local initiative for adolescent girls in a deprived area of Bournemouth. The project is a values forming programme that underpins the government’s five targets of the 2004 Children’s Act that every child matters. Through practical demonstrations on makeup and nail care and informal discussions on subjects such as aspirations and etiquette, it aims to show the girls that they have intrinsic worth, purpose and value, to recognise the same in others and to encourage them that they have a positive contribution to make to society. It is hoped that they will realise their own self worth and significance to themselves and others. The Shine-Girl course has had an overwhelmingly positive affect in Australia, where it was conceived by the Christian Hillsongs Emerge Organisation. |
