Search and Rescue

Search and RescueThe National Search & Rescue Dogs Association is known for its amazing work in mountain rescue operations. The Association also operates search units in the lowland rural areas of England, such as ALSAR search and rescue team in Sussex and NSARDA Kent. These units of highly trained volunteers and their dogs must be able to deploy rapidly and undertake effective search & rescue operations.

ALSAR (association of Lowland search & rescue) search and rescue team in Sussex and NSARDA Kent train some of the most intelligent and courageous dogs to take part in important rescue operations, providing support to the emergency services.

At Paws in the Park, the talented Search and Rescue teams will be in the arena explaining the different steps in the training of the dogs. They will be looking for volunteers from the audience to help them demonstrate the early stages, so be ready!

You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the friendly team at the Search and Rescue stand. Whether you are simply curious about their work or seriously interested in getting involved, they will be available to answer all of your questions and test your dogs rescuing skills against the clock at the Search and Rescue Have a Go.

The Search and Rescue display takes place in the arena at both our Spring and Autumn Shows.
